Lobster Hatchery

A community-led charity with a passion

for protecting and nurturing our local marine life.

Where Mankind Helps Mother Nature

Based in the heart of Anstruther, East Neuk Lobster Hatchery is a community-led charity dedicated to protecting and supporting local marine life.

Our vision is to create a fully operational lobster hatchery in the East Neuk of Fife, raising lobster larvae before releasing healthy juveniles back into local waters.

By working alongside nature, we aim to support sustainable lobster populations, strengthen the marine ecosystem and help safeguard the future of our coastal communities.

Our Mission

“Our goal is simple, yet powerful: to raise and release as many baby lobsters as possible back into the wild, helping to restore and strengthen local marine populations for generations to come.”

Our work

Lobsters and Hatcheries

From berried hens arriving at the hatchery to juvenile lobsters returning to the sea, every stage of the process is carefully managed to give these remarkable creatures the best possible start in life. Through careful nurturing and conservation-led practices, we help support future lobster populations in the waters around the East Neuk.
